Pinout information is still not readily accessible on the internet,
causing problems for anyone seeking to work with older hardware.
Manufacturers tend to be keen on supplying new equipment or repairing
older components only at well over-the-odds prices.
quest for profits
means that companies often have an in interest in
not supporting older hardware.

company badge stuck on them. This results in a lot of working hardware being
discarded just because it is more profitable not to disclose information about it in
order to fuel demand for new equipment.
