Give Away Shops
"Buy without money -- everything's free!"
Give Away Shops are shops where everything is free.
Run by a mixture of people from philanthropists, environmentalists, squatters to anarchists
and anti-capitalists, this new breed of shop is challenging one of the basic notions of
capitalism - that there is no such thing as a free lunch1.
Promoting recycling like this really is in everyone's interest. Many of the shops
also have wider functions, such as encouraging community by acting as social centers
where people can drop in for a chat or a cup of tea.
Giveaway shops are springing up in cities across Northern Europe,
in France, Germany & the Netherlands.
We are looking to encourage the spread of GiveAway shops across the world,
as a practical means of reducing waste and sharing resources with the materially poor.
If you would like to set-up a Give Away shop in your area, or if you have set up a Give Away
shop and would like help to others do so please contact us at ...

1. Note that this cynical adage is a modern fiction. Do you think hunter gatherers believed it :) ?
