Safe mailto: linksFor the sake of novice computer users no method has the convenience of a mailto: link. However, this is also one of the easiest for harvesters to pick up.A safer alternative to a simple mailto: link is to include a piece of one-off data in the address. This site currently uses the IP address (see the contact graphic at the bottom of this page), which improves communication from visitors; checking their IP address against the server logs shows which pages they've visited and helps us reply suitably. This is easily achieved in most modern web-programming languages. Below is an example of how to do it in ASP:
