What does Friend2Friend offer end users?

1) The encryption means your traffic cannot be deciphered by governments or other agencies. Nothing is intelligeible without a private key from your personal server. If you wish extra security, you can keep the key on your local hard disk.

2) As an XML-based social software system, it offers a single place to store your data online, so you won't need to remember multiple passwords and logins for different sites. What is more, it has minimal lock-in. i.e. No company or other organisation will have control of your data. One click will allow you to transfer it all to your local hard drive, in an open standard.

3) The social nature means that everyone who contacts you will be related by a chain of friendships, such as a friend of a friend. Unlike Email or WWW, it is not anonymous, so spammers can be easily identified and excluded.

4) The decentralised nature of the system means that F2F has no single point of failure or control. So provided people still see value in networking directly, the system will continue.

We are currently collecting addresses of volunteers who would like to try out F2F(alpha), expected to be available for public testing by Autumn 2006. Add your Email if you would like to be notified when F2F is available for testing:
