Network Of Care

"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us the "Universe", a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."     Albert Einstein

The network of care is the basic component of the altruistic economic model that replaces the market of neo-liberal capitalism. It arises from the sets of personal relationships that individuals choose to publish about themselves.

The network of care models the real world, emotional connections between people. Whether directly with friends, or indirectly with friends of friends, friends of friends of friends etc. this networked trading structure channels transactions over real world care relationships. Naturally, this confers a much greater importance to human relationships than the capitalist system of impersonal 'market forces', in which emotionally disconnected individuals communicate only through the price mechanism.

The network of care can be shown pictorially as a directed graph in which the arrows represent care relationships. The direction of the arrow shows the direction of the care, as shown (right):

The strength of these relationships may vary, and is reflected by choice of s, sympathy value. This comprises the other essential aspect of the altruistic economic model.

You care about your friend:
Your friend cares about you:
Relationships will often be reciprocal. You and your friend care about one another:
