Ekushey Keyboard Layout Editor

The BSTI 'Bangladesh National Standard' keyboard layout is not, alas, widely used either inside or outside Bangladesh. Most systems available only support their own proprietary layout. Some producers of Bengali typing systems claim copyright over particular layouts and prohibit others from distributing software with a compatible layout.

The Ekushey solution is simple. It defaults to use the public domain Unicode Bangladesh layout, but it comes with a keyboard layout editor, so you can use whichever layout you like.

To make matters even easier, Ekushey 2.2 installs with the popular layouts already defined. Each keyboard is stored in its own layout file, and can be loaded into Ekushey on demand. To change layouts, just point and click a list of keyboards that you have previously used,
